DATA MIGRATION SPECIALIST

Data Migration Specialist

REPORTS TO:

Manager, Technical Services Delivery

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

As a Data Migration Specialist, you will play a key role in laying the solid foundation for our customers’ successful implementation of IFS products by driving the onboarding process of data manipulation and migration.

A successful Data Migration Specialist is extremely focused on accuracy, keen problem-solving skills, a blend of technical, functional and interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate at all levels, and is motivated to get the job done right.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Support multiple projects in onboarding customers from various systems including, and not limited, ERP systems, finance, engineering, HR, etc., into IFS
  • Design, plan and manage the migration activities, to include working with the customer on mapping legacy data to migration containers, load of migration containers to Oracle and migration of data from containers to the IFS Applications 10
  • Analyze existing data and define required manipulation utilizing SQL or PL/SQL scripts
  • Be the primary point of contact for data migration services, inside and outside the company
  • Train customer teams on migration activities

    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience with data migration tools, either as a customer or a consultant
  • Prior experience with an ERP system, ideally IFS Applications 8 or higher, with at least one area of specialty or broad general knowledge of IFS Applications 10
  • Strong knowledge of SQL or PL/SQL, to be able to query data and write scripts
  • Knowledge (technical or functional) of IFS Applications a plus
  • Knowledge of 1 or more IFS Applications migration tools preferred
  • IFS NA Migration Tool Kit (MTK)
  • FNDMIG Data Migration Tool
  • IFS Applications External File Load functionality
  • IFS Applications Excel migration tool
  • IFS Applications Excel IFS Import/Export tool
  • IFS Applications Smart Data Management Tool
  • Oracle database experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
  • Critical thinking skills and technical acumen to be able to step through a problem
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and build influence, both internally and externally
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, and make relevant decisions in performing daily tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization, including the ability to communicate technical and business information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must be US or UK based-and legally authorized to work in either region
