Senior Business Analyst
As a former U.S. Marine, Charlie Shephard naturally has the discipline, focus, and ability to deftly maneuver through fast-paced work environments while managing multiple lines of communication and varying responsibilities. In his professional roles as Fleet Maintenance Leader, he has delivered long-term results on durability of assets through internal and external partnerships as well as technology and human capital development.
In his recent time with RutterKey, Charlie served as the lead functional Business Analyst for an IFS Apps10 service contract implementation with a software and technology developer that designs operating systems specifically for the shipping and maritime terminal industry. As such, he worked directly with the client to improve service and invoice automation throughout their business cycle, reducing manual key entries in order to streamline redundant tasks.
Other RutteKey client experience includes a similar role with an oil & gas industry leader regarding their Apps10 field maintenance and mobile work order (mWo) functionality. Charlie took the lead on mWo resolution and training. This project required the development of failed transaction solutions, process documentation, and follow-up review – Charlie’s efforts resulted in the removal of over 7,000 failed transactions.
He also played a significant role in a project involving change management & IFS Maintenix configuration. As part of the project team, Charlie conducted site visits to speak with mechanics on perceptions and understanding of IFS Maintenix and assisted with Maintenix configurations collapse for ATAs.
Prior to joining RutterKey, Charlie spent three years with Power Secure, Inc., serving as a Maintenance Manager where he oversaw all aspects of fleet maintenance and utilization for over 943 passenger, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, and other owned assets. In this role he also directed Field Service Supervisors, Fleet Coordinators, and vendors supporting multi-state operations.
During his time with Power Secure, Charlie developed and implemented a strategic lease replacement program, which reduced average age from 3 to 7 years and supported over 35% growth year-over-year. He also implemented telematics trouble code integration, improved up-time through auto-notification and predictive repairs. Charlie’s professional experiences and competencies include budgeting, strategic sourcing, parts management, warranty tracking, vendor management, software implementation, field service, team building, and DOT/OSHA. He has held related professional management positions with Amerit Fleet Solutions, the City of Houston, Flexible Lifeline Systems, and the United States Marine Corps. where he served as Fleet Manager for 4 years in Twentynine Palms, CA and 3 years as Director of Fleet Maintenance in Okinawa, Japan.
His technology experience includes Fleet Focus M5, TMW, Oracle Application 11i, and IFS Applications. Charlie holds a professional membership with the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA).
